Happy 2009 !!! We're off to the store to gather ingredients for a Louisiana Gumbo in Arizona. This will be an adventure....and I am sure will require us to get really creative and use what we can find at the local Mercado....smile.
I would love to know what went into your gumbo. I was in Monroe for Christmase and my sister Janice made gumbo. I thought I was going to hurt myself. LOL
Listening to my daughters' CD of New Orleans playground music. I heard the term "Eh La Bah" and smiled with memories of hearing that growing up in Louisiana, but not knowing exactly what it meant. So I set out on the internet to find the meaning. The only thing I found was a blog entitled "Eh La Bah". I couldn't find the meaning anywhere on the www. So, I called my mother, who told me it can mean "look at this" or "look-a-here", which makes sense when thinking of how it is used.
The "Eh La Bah" blog motivated me to start my own..."Envie Louisiane"
So, join the conversation, leave a comment, share your thoughts or simply ignore my incoherent ramblings....

ReplyDeleteWell, my gumbo wasn't quite "hurt yourself" but it was good. I am sure it will be better today after all the spices settle.
